Living for the Present.

What does living for the present mean to you? And I don’t mean Christmas presents. Although Christmas is a wonderful time just the same as any other time to live in the moment and taking each day as it unfolds. This is one of the single most important things you can do for yourself whoever you are wherever you are and whatever you’re standing in life. Even more so at Christmas with its hustle and bustle of shopping, card writing, and delivering presents. You can often feel your batteries are on low. So use the Christmas period if you are on holiday for a bit of recharging.

As human beings we need to BE more and DO less!  Challenging I know in this modern world of high technology and fast paced living. Living and centering ourselves in the present moment can prove to be difficult for many. Nonetheless, instead of trying to control and waiting for future happiness to come. You can find by living in the present moment life flows, you feel better and happier.

There is nothing wrong with making plans for the future and certainly over this festive period it’s a wonderful time to sow the seeds for future positive changes in our lives. Life is to be experienced and savored; but it’s so easy to get into a ‘Doom Loop’ as one of my clients always says. It can particularly be so at Christmas time. We may let our minds drift back over the current year as to what dreams or aspirations still seem unfulfilled. Instead of dwelling on the negative let’s look a little deeper and you may find some of the good things 2014 brought as well.

By making a conscious decision to accept the moment just as it is right now we are better placed to make those all important changes to our lives for the coming year ahead. Your future is not set in stone, so let’s celebrate living in the present and the power of freewill that allows you to make choices taking you to the next stage in life.
