Are YOU affected by domestic violence?

This is a blog post very close to my heart as I can truly resonate with that experience from my first marriage. I know only too well how it leaves emotional scars, the physical ones don’t always show but the inner scars are quite evident and stay for some time. Thankfully I left after 5 years to begin my life over again and found happiness.

There is a lot of news around at the moment regarding Mel B formerly the Spice girl and her marriage with domestic violence. But It’s not only high profile women like Mel B who are victims, many women just like you suffer in silence every day, ashamed to seek help or speak out.

Recently I worked with someone in this very situation, she felt trapped with no way out. It was down to me to show her some options, to help her gain clarity then see a way forward.

After two hours together and many tears later, no longer did she feel trapped but empowered and confident knowing she did have choices and opportunities available to her.

She contacted me the following day to say that night she had slept better than in years, as a new sense of purpose had stirred.

When we next met for her coaching session she was smiling and ready to take another small step. The future was not set in stone as first thought, but it took skill, insight and experience to create that awareness she now had.

Remember, whatever your current situation take courage that you too can change your life, it only takes one very small step and I can help you take it.
